Maison Cachée is a charming cottage. The owners have designed the interiors to provide clients with all the modern conveniences for the perfect stay but combined with a host of charming features – many of them sorted from local brocantes and markets.
The heart of Maison Cachée is the delightful open-plan living, dining and kitchen area.
A modern kitchen with hob, oven and dishwasher allows you to indulge your culinary prowess using the wonderful local produce. There is a French coffee press, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.
The large, but cosy lounge area features two large – and very comfy – sofas, a television (with French and English channels) – and a Chesney electric “wood burner”.
It features a host of authentic touches – many of which have been sourced from antique markets and shops in the area.
French doors take you out to the private, enclosed courtyard garden – with an outside dining table, a Weber guest barbecue and a relaxing lounger – the perfect location for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine with the scent of rose blossom.
The ground floor also features the utility room with a microwave, washing machine, tumble drier and ironing board. There is also a downstairs toilet.
Bedroom 1: The main bedroom has a King-sized bed with high-quality cotton laundry, (very tempting to lie-in and watch the sun bring the river port to life through the double doors).
There is a walk-in a wardrobe and plenty of storage in the hand-painted antique bedside cabinets and chest of draws, which also house the hair drier.
The large en-suite shower room has a walk-in rainhead shower and a heated rail to ensure your fluffy towels are wonderfully warmed.
Bedroom 2: This room – with details in Farrow & Ball French Grey – has an iron double bed, flanked by antique cabinets sourced from the brocante in Dinan!
The en-suite has a newly-fitted Grohe shower, while the walk-in wardrobe has masses of hanging space and a handy chest of draws.
Bedroom 3: This room is a delight and is often filled with sunlight spilling through the French doors. The two antique Portuguese iron beds can come together to form a double if required and there is an integral wardrobe and storage cupboard.
Bedroom 4: This single room, with its wooden bed, also features a lovely antique dressing table and mirror. There is a large wardrobe – home of the Maison Cachée cot.
The light-filled family bathroom, a step away from Bedroom 3 and 4, has a bath with shower and shower screen.
From the lounge, step directly into the tranquility of our secluded dining sun terrace. Bask in the privacy and warmth of the beautiful summer sunshine that graces this space for most of the day. The terrace is thoughtfully furnished to ensure your utmost comfort and leisure, featuring teak garden furniture with ample seating for 8, a sun lounger for relaxation, a parasol for shade, and a barbecue for outdoor culinary adventures. It’s the perfect outdoor retreat for enjoying serene moments and delightful meals under the sun.
